I made a Lampshade
Yesterday I did a lampshade making class at The Makery in Bath! The class was taught by the lovely Ruth from Quincy Lampshades. I came armed with my half metre of green Fabric which I'd bought from Millie Moon shop in Frome, expecting a fun afternoon of making and I wasn't disappointed. Making the lampshade was not as hard as I'd thought but some bits were indeed tricky. I feel I've learned a great new skill and I am looking forward to making more lampshades soon!

Cutout Books framed artwork
This week I have been busy making a framed piece of work for my
colleague and friend Stu for a wedding gift to him and his wife Jo. They
both love books so I thought I'd make them a book themed artwork along
the same lines as my Butterfly wall art.
I used thick cartridge paper and cut out 9 shapes of opened out books, then I made thin paper pages and glued them behind the cartridge paper books. Next I selected some vintage music sheets with text on them to use as the background. The whole thing was then framed in a deep box frame.
If you'd like me to create a similar piece of wall art for you then please do not hesitate to contact me!

Music Paper Flowers
I decided to make some little and large paper flowers for card making and maybe other collagey projects. I used some music sheets I had bought, and some other translucent and cartridge paper, beads and sequins. Watch this space to see what I use them on!

A few weeks ago I posted up a few pictures of my shrink plastic jewellery, well here is a small selection, on the theme of bunting. These ones are striped with dots, but I have other designs in mind for the future! The necklaces are available for £10 and the Earrings are £4 per pair. I'll be putting them on my folksy shop soon!

Shrink plastic bunch of flowers
These tiny flowers are made from shrink plastic, both clear and white
coloured. I cut them out using various flower punches, and coloured
either the back or the front with watercolour pencils or coloured
permanent pen. The flowers start out about 15mm big and when heated with
a heat gun shrink to about 6mm and the coloured pencil or pen shrinks
down too making the colour more vibrant!
I'm pleased with the effect, however the process can be a bit fiddly!
